Curriculum Intent
Within Key Stage 5 students will study units of work that contribute to a BTEC Level 3 qualification in Performing Arts. These units include a wide range of training, opportunities and performance in all Performing Arts disciplines.
BTECs embody a fundamentally learner-centred approach to the curriculum, with a flexible, unit-based structure and knowledge applied in project-based assessments. They focus on the holistic development of the practical, interpersonal and thinking skills required to be able to succeed in employment and higher education.
The Extended Diploma is a two-year, full-time course that meets entry requirements in its own right for learners who want to progress to higher education courses in performing arts areas before entering employment.
At LeAF Studio, we have selected the Musical Theatre pathway to allow our students to become and/or develop as a triple threat performer; what is needed for peak success in the industry.
Dependent on a students remaining A-level options they will either be entered on the Diploma or Extended Diploma in Performing Arts
